I don't know about you and your kids, but my daughter has been begging for a zhu zhu hamster for Christmas - Mr. Squiggles to be exact. I have been crazy looking for one. I even made her give me her 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices because "I'm sorry honey, but you don't always get what you want and sometimes you have to settle for 2nd/3rd/4th best". I even bought the bed and carrier for the hamster she wanted before finding a hamster (eek!).
