I don't know about you and your kids, but my daughter has been begging for a zhu zhu hamster for Christmas - Mr. Squiggles to be exact. I have been crazy looking for one. I even made her give me her 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices because "I'm sorry honey, but you don't always get what you want and sometimes you have to settle for 2nd/3rd/4th best". I even bought the bed and carrier for the hamster she wanted before finding a hamster (eek!).

A Plan Toys Giveaway on another blog
http://ilovemuffintops.blogspot.com/2009/12/plan-toys-review-giveaway.html
I love that garage and had my eye on it since I saw it a little while back. We have a few Plan Toys and absolutely LOVE them (the tying shoe and some of the food/cooking sets), I've been considering a few for C for Christmas. I love their preschool toys.

Rainbow Crayons
I've been wanting to make some rainbow crayons with all of our old and broken crayon bits, but for one reason or another we just haven't done it. I was at Target the other day and saw some snowflake cupcake pans and had a great idea! With the holidays coming, wouldn't it be fun for the kids to make some rainbow snowflake crayons for the goodie bags for the kids in their classes before winter break?!
So, yesterday after soccer we decided to make some crayons to test it..
Take all of your old broken crayons....

Fill any kind of cupcake pans you'd like....

Bake in the oven (I couldn't remember what temp I'd read to put them on, so I did 275 for maybe 15 minutes - as you can see we watched them melt)...

Let cool (we checked ours 2-3 hours later)...

And then you have fun, funky rainbow crayons!

I think I might try to find some smaller winter themed pans before making them for the goodie bags, but the kids love them and had fun making them.
